Training Practice

Garland House Surgery is a training practice for GPs.

This means that we have qualified doctors (“GP Registrars”) on placements in the practice while they improve and learn the specific skills they need to be a really good GP. They are closely supervised and have a number of formal assessments to complete.

We have multiple trainers, along with the support of the whole practice team.

You may be offered an appointment with one of the GP Registrars. Sometimes they may ask to video the consultation and sometimes another GP will be sitting in with them. If you are not comfortable with this please let the GP Registrar know; They will not be offended by your decision.

The Registrars are a valued part of our team and you can expect the same standard of care from them as from any of the other GPs.

We feel proud to be able to embrace the learning philosophy that their education provides and feel our patients benefit from their energy and enthusiasm. We welcome any feedback from patients on their performance.
